From The Udall Record, Udall, Kansas on Feb 19, 1892: A fire broke out in Ridgeway when a keg of powder exploded. It destroyed the Redinger & Opdyke Hardware store, the post office, Kampman’s drug store and the home of Mr. Yeager. Damages were estimated at $10,000 and insurance was expected to cover about half.
