The East Harrison softball team has been playing some fine ball lately, but probably nothing like the game you could have seen on the 4th of July in 1939. Then you could see the “Laughingist” game you would ever see: softball played while riding trained donkeys. This game of “Donkey Ball” was played on the RHS softball field before a paying crowd of 1150 people . The crowd enjoyed lots of amusement and particularly enjoyed “when some prominent citizen was catapulted over the head of the donkey while trying to negotiate first base.”
